About IDS
Supporting demanding
downhole operations.
Inspecta Drilling Services LLC provides downhole tools and drilling equipment services for oil-and-gas operations, with a focus on requirements suited to each drilling programme.
Downhole equipment operates under demanding combinations of mechanical loading, abrasive wear, pressure, temperature and drilling-fluid exposure. Careful consideration of tool selection, connection compatibility and equipment condition is essential.
Our objective is to support clients through clear technical requirements, suitable equipment solutions and responsive coordination.
Tools & Technical Services
Understand the equipment.
Define the right scope.
Explore the principal downhole tool and drilling equipment categories below. Specific availability, rental arrangements, servicing and field support are confirmed for each enquiry.
01Downhole Tools & BHA Equipment

The bottomhole assembly (BHA) is the lower section of the drillstring containing the drill bit and components that support drilling performance, directional behaviour and measurement functions.
Depending on the programme, it may include drill collars, stabilizers, reamers, motors, jars, shock tools and connection subs. Selection considers hole size, trajectory, formation conditions and compatibility with the complete assembly.
Enquiry details: tool diameter, internal bore, length, material, top and bottom connections, operating conditions and required documentation.
02Drillstring Tubulars & Accessories

Drillstring tubulars connect the surface drilling system to the BHA, transmit mechanical loads and provide a flow path for drilling fluid.
Equipment categories include drill pipe, heavy-weight drill pipe, steel and non-magnetic drill collars, crossover subs and accessories. Non-magnetic components serve applications where magnetic measurement systems require a suitable environment.
Selection focus: dimensions, grade, connection compatibility, wear condition, inspection status and service history.
03Stabilizers, Reamers & Hole Openers

Stabilizers help control BHA position and behaviour within the wellbore. Reamers condition the borehole, while hole openers enlarge a drilled interval to the required diameter.
Application requirements determine blade geometry, cutting structure, gauge, wear protection and connection configuration. The intended function should be defined clearly before equipment selection.
Applications: stabilization, gauge maintenance, wellbore conditioning and borehole enlargement.
04Drilling Jars, Accelerators & Shock Tools

Drilling jars deliver an impact to assist in freeing stuck drillstring components. Performance depends on jar design, placement in the assembly and available drillstring loading.
Compatible accelerators may enhance jarring performance. Shock tools perform a different function by reducing the transmission of selected dynamic loads during drilling.
Selection focus: dimensions, connections, load ratings, temperature limits and manufacturer operating instructions.
05Downhole Drilling Motors

Downhole drilling motors convert hydraulic energy from circulating drilling fluid into rotation at the drill bit. Torque and speed characteristics must be matched to the planned application.
Selection considers diameter, flow range, differential pressure, bit compatibility, temperature, drilling-fluid compatibility and bearing configuration. Bend settings are relevant where applicable.
Discuss with IDS: the required motor configuration, operating envelope and availability of the requested supply or service arrangement.
06Fishing & Recovery Tools

Fishing operations recover lost, broken or stuck equipment from the wellbore. Tool selection depends on the dimensions, condition, location and accessible engagement surface of the item being recovered.
Overshots engage externally, while spears engage internally. Other categories include fishing jars, magnets, junk baskets, mills and washover tools.
Enquiry details: fish dimensions, wellbore restrictions, depth, available information and recovery objectives. Tool availability and any supervision scope require confirmation.
07Inspection, Maintenance & Refurbishment

Downhole tools may experience wear, fatigue, corrosion, erosion and mechanical damage. Inspection helps establish condition and identify the need for maintenance, repair, further assessment or retirement.
Depending on the equipment and agreed scope, requirements may include visual and dimensional inspection, connection examination, appropriate non-destructive testing, component replacement and functional testing.
Service planning: inspection methods, acceptance criteria and repair requirements are defined against the applicable equipment, manufacturer instructions and client specification. Confirm the available execution arrangements with IDS.
08Equipment Rental & Technical Coordination

Joshua Doubek · CC BY-SA 4.0 · License
Rental arrangements provide equipment for a defined project or operating period. A clear agreement establishes specification, availability, inspection status, dispatch condition and return requirements.
Technical coordination starts with the well programme and equipment interfaces. Complete specifications help reduce unsuitable configurations, incompatible connections and incomplete packages.
Discuss with IDS: equipment requirements, rental duration, mobilization location, documentation, return assessment and commercial terms.
